Sara Marriott, Ph.D.

Dr. Marriott is currently a Foreign Affairs Specialist with NOAA's Office of Law Enforcement, after completing a John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellow in 2023. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she researched small-scale fisheries in the Philippines. Specifically, her work investigates the connections between social and ecological systems in community-based fishing. 

 

Her research is focused on using interdisciplinary approaches to work closely with stakeholders to build sustainable fisheries that support both ecosystem health and fishermen.
